By now, you’ll see that we’ve moved from Santa Barbara to Solvang to be closer to the racing scence during the Solvang ITT day. You may be asking why we made the change, the following reasons are:
1. Originally we wanted to have it in Solvang but the hotels were booked out already for the Solvang ITT Stage during the Tour of California stage. We recently were called by a hotel that is also a host for other pro teams asking me if we were interested in a block of rooms. Without any hesitation, we went ahead with the change.
2. We’re in the heart of the Solvang downtown which is one of the most beautiful places in California with a dutch charm. This also puts us very close to the ITT stage which means we’ll enjoy the festivities and watch both the starts and finishes. We will be able to cycle around the course and watch the pros zip by.
3. We’re very close to fantastic routes in the area, especially the Category 1, 11 mile climb on Mt. Figueroa.
4. Wineries, Wineries – There’s one vineyard that will be holding a special tasting session for us during our ride and it’s very close to Solvang.
